Virtual Meeting on “Latest Developments in the Governance of the Aid for Trade Initiative for Arab States (AfTIAS 2.0)”

The International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) organized a virtual meeting on May 27, 2024, on the “Latest Developments in the Governance of the Aid for Trade Initiative for Arab States (AfTIAS 2.0).” The program’s Board of Directors and the AfTIAS 2.0 Program team attended the meeting.

Eng. Hani Salem Sonbol, CEO of ITFC and Chairman of the AfTIAS 2.0 Program’s board of directors chaired the meeting and welcomed the esteemed board members.

The meeting aimed to provide an overview of the governance of the AfTIAS 2.0 program, present the mechanism for delegating authority for program management and update participants on the program’s financial status and the progress of the projects under the AfTIAS 2.0 program umbrella. (The names and photos of the Mauritanian representatives, Mr. Mohamed Tar and Mr. Bassel were missing.)

The meeting outcomes included actionable decisions agreed upon by the AfTIAS 2.0 Board members to enhance program performance, achieve tangible results, and implement decisions, plans, and resolutions throughout the program life cycle until the end of 2026.

At the end of the meeting, Eng. Hani Sonbol emphasized the importance of reinforcing consensus on the program’s goals, priorities, and strategies.
